June & Maritess

It was my first time to shoot a wedding at GCF's new worship hall. Inaugurated last year, the building is relatively new. Pastor Luis Pantoja officiated the wedding rites for Pastor June and Maritess with Pastor Art as their wedding coordinator, primary sposonsors were mostly members and pastors of GCF as well. It was good to see a lot of friends and bible group members at the ceremony and reception. I've been a member of Greenhills Christian Fellowship since 2001.

Beauty shots

I did a series of layouts with Lanie and Daniela yesterday. We decided to go for beauty shots, at first I thought Lanie had to do all the hard work since we had several touch ups to get the right details that we wanted and she had to go changing hair styles and skin tones after. But what I realized is I had my share of hard work. As I got home I started editing the raw files and I was amazed to check the time and it actually took me 5 hours to get it done! Lanie and Daniela did an amazing job, I posted one layout and I'll be posting the others soon.

Xtreme Tanay Portraits

Here are some of the portraits I took last weekend at the Xtreme Tanay Photography Workshop conducted by the Society of Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (SPPP). The Workshop was fun-filled and we had 8 models to work with. Daniella followed on the second day and we took fabulous bridal portraits of her. I learned a lot from this workshop not only from the masters but from the participants and models as well.

Ms. Sattler!

Marybeth is such a wonderful person from Michigan, she teaches in Faith Academy and attends our weekly bible study group in GCF. MB is very friendly, smiles often and has the cutest laugh that I have ever heard! :D One thing really noticeable in MB is her pretty blue eyes. I told myself that I definitely have to take her portraits! So we decided to go for it last wednesday and I was amazed how confident she was in front of the camera - considering she never had a portrait session. Go take a closer look at those beautiful eyes! :)

tricks of the trade

I recently acquired my latest software for my digital workflow, Adobe's Lightroom. It is an amazing image editing software for professional application. Basically it is a tool that allows a photographer to edit images with selective control to precisely achieve the detail that is required to produce an excellent photograph. Professional photographers make use of a different file format, the Camera RAW or DNG (Digital Negative) in their applications. These files are of the purest and uncompressed data that the file contains, it is unlike the Jpeg format (commonly used) that is compressed and a lot of detail is lost and overall quality of the file is significantly reduced.I found it very accurate and fast, I was overwhelwed with the results - perfect for my post production!

Aside from Adobe's Lightroom, I also use Adobe Photoshop CS2, Nikon Capture editor, Nikon Capture NX and Apple's Aperure for my post production workflow
